Hi, I’m Shannon and I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a Texas native, blessed wife, new mama, foodie, runner, reader and passionate about all things that impact health.

To be honest, I never wanted a blog. I thought it was going to be too much work (and some days it is), but almost 4 years into this journey, I’m so glad I’m here. I want KISS in the Kitchen to be a place where you feel at home and that you find all things simple to help you in the kitchen, with your family and your journey to health and joy. My dad always used to tell me to “Keep it simple, Shannon” and his legacy lives on through this platform.

In case you’re wondering about my qualifications or considering working together:

I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. I’m a registered and licensed dietitian with few other credentials that look like alphabet soup on paper.

I had the blessing of working as a neonatal and pediatric dietitian at a local children’s hospital for several years while also establishing my private practice, Lone Star Nutrition, LLC. I love working with children and their families, to positively impact their nutrition status. I know the joy of a picky eater accepting a new food, and an overweight teenager losing those first couple pounds. I’m both excited and qualified to work with your child.

In addition to pediatric nutrition, I am passionate about media, writing and public speaking. I often provide presentations/cooking demonstrations to various companies and also enjoy providing fun nutrition ideas and tips on local television lifestyle shows.
